COVID-19
There are extra measures as a charity, community and family that we need to adhere to so we can ensure all who visit us have a safe and positive experience with the least chance of spreading the virus. If the worst happens and you unfortunately test positive for COVID-19, we of course ask that you do not travel to Westwood and stay at home and self-isolate.
Arriving to Westwood
High up in the roof space, with its pine-panelled ceilings, the Eyrie boasts astounding views over the Colne Valley. Check-in is from 15:00 onwards. We operate a self check-in/out system. The flat will be open for you and the keys will be on the little table at the top of the stairs. The Eyrie is in the left wing of the church building. Head towards the left-hand side entrance and go through the green door, then take the first door on your right-hand side. There are approximately 10 parking spaces either directly outside on the drive or down New Lane which runs below the centre. We kindly ask that you please park within the marked bays ensuring wheels are not over the edge and each car only takes up one space. Please DO NOT park in the turning circle at the end of the drive as this needs to be clear at all times or on Westwood Edge Road as this is reserved for residents only. An electric car charger is available for all guests. (7kW Type 2 - bring your own cable) - suggested donation of £15 per use or £25 for overnight. Please contact us to book a slot. PLEASE NOTE: ALL CARS PARKED DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK When you arrive, make yourself a cup of tea/coffee. We provide you with coffee, tea bags and sugar, so you just need to bring your own milk. Please familiarise yourself with the house rules inside the flat when you arrive. The smart heating thermostat is on the wall in the living area towards the bathroom - please turn the dial up or down to adjust the temperature. We also ask especially during these times if you would like to open a window to turn the heating off / down on the thermostat before doing so.
07399 359480
Please use this number if you need to contact the volunteer wardens during your stay rather than the doorbell at the main entrance or the office telephone number / email which has limited office hours. Please text for non-urgent queries and telephone in case of an emergency. Please be mindful that we are a volunteer team with other responsibilities and therefore limited time. Please note this mobile telephone number is strictly for guests whilst staying with us. For bookings or other queries outside of dates of stays, the best way to contact us is via email info@westwood-centre.org.uk.
Bedding & Towels
You’ll arrive to your bed perfectly made for you according to the bedding you paid for and requested upon booking along with a bath towel, hand towel & bathmat. Please note, we no longer offer the 'no bedding' option. If you require a specific bed layout e.g. if twin beds instead of king (Nave & Clerestory only), sofa beds, travel cot etc., please also inform the office at least 7 days before your arrival.
The Kitchen & Bathroom
Westwood is fully self-catered, each flat has its own kitchen with an oven & hob, undercounter fridge with single freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cafetiere, cutlery and pots and pans. You'll find a few supplies such as instant coffee, teabags, sugar, cleaning cloth, tea-towel, washing-up liquid, cleaning spray and hand-soap. In the bathroom we provide toilet rolls, hand-soap, hand towel and bathmat. Each flat also has one hairdryer and an ironing board and iron is available upon request.
House Rules
Our full house rules can be found in the flat, but here are a few key things to be mindful of during your stay:
- Westwood is a quiet place of rest and retreat for those seeking peace and solitude so please be mindful of noise levels throughout your stay with special consideration during our noise curfew between 10pm and 8am.
- Visitors should be agreed in advance with the wardens (for fire safety).
- We ask that you leave the flat as you found it, such as washing all crockery and putting them away.
Wi-Fi
"What's the Wi-Fi password?"... probably our most asked question - we understand, you don't want to fully disconnect from the outside world. There is Wi-Fi available, and the connection is usually stable, but because of our rural location and Westwood's old thick stone walls, we cannot guarantee stability at all times. We kindly ask that you do not turn the wi-fi disc off at the plug at any time during your stay as the discs are triangulated throughout the centre.

Before Departure
We hope you leave Westwood feeling rested and renewed. Upon departure please leave your key in the same place it was on arrival. We ask all departures to be between 08:00 - 10:00am to honour our quiet policy hours. We ask you please leave the flat as you found it by putting all furniture / crockery back and cleaning down surfaces/oven/fridge etc. Please ensure beds are stripped, and towels left in the bath / shower and that check-out is NO LATER than 10am on the morning of departure. Any refuse / recycling / compost can be transferred to the bins at the end of the drive before departing.
