Welcome to The Eyrie

The Eyrie

There are extra measures as a charity, community and family that we need to adhere to so we can ensure all who visit us have a safe and positive experience with the least chance of spreading the virus. 1. Flats may only be shared by people of the same household unless you have formed a support bubble. We will require contact details for each guest that is staying, including those who are dropping you off and/or collecting you. 2. Please wear your face mask when you arrive and note that wardens will be available via telephone during your stay to ensure social distancing. 3. Please advise us when you plan to arrive so that we can stagger arrival times. We will allocate these on a first come, first served basis. Check in is from 15:00 onwards. Earlier check-ins are not possible due to time needed for extra cleaning measures. 4. Before your arrival, we ask that you complete an online health assessment form, your details from this form will be used if necessary for the Government's contact and trace system. It's important that you submit this form within 24 hours prior to your arrival - no later than 10am on the morning of your stay. A separate form must be completed for each guest. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY GUESTS THAT HAVE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED A FORM CAN ENTER THE CENTRE / FLATS INCLUDING ANYONE DROPPING OFF / COLLECTING GUESTS THAT ARE STAYING. Press the button below to be taken to the online form...

Arriving to Westwood

Check-in is from 15:00 onwards - please confirm your arrival time with us. To keep you and us safe during these times, we are operating a self check-in system. The flat will be open for you and the keys will be on the table. If you need us, you can contact us via telephone (contact details will be in the flat). The Eyrie is in the left wing of the church building. Head towards the left-hand side entrance and go through the green door, then take the first door on your right-hand side. The flat will be open and ready for you, and should be nice and warm. When you arrive, make yourself a cup of tea/coffee. We provide you with coffee, tea bags and sugar, however, we ask that you bring your own milk as our little shop is closed until further notice. Please familiarise yourself with our house rules when you arrive. High up in the roof space, with its pine-panelled ceilings, the Eyrie boasts astounding views over the Colne Valley.

Bedding & Towels

If you’ve purchased a bed set (£7 each) you’ll arrive to your bed perfectly made for you. If you haven’t purchased a bed set, remember you must bring along your own bedding (pillow/duvet/sheets) and towels. You must purchase your bed set 7 days before arrival.

The Kitchen

The Eyrie has its own kitchen with an oven/hob, fridge (with small freezer), microwave and a kettle. There are also pots, pans and crockery - but if you need anything else to cook with during your stay, just shout and we will see what we can rustle up.

"What's the Wi-Fi password?"... probably our most asked question - we understand, you don't want to fully disconnect from the outside world. There is Wi-Fi available, and the connection is usually stable, but because of our rural location and Westwood's old thick stone walls, we cannot guarantee stability at all times.

Before Depature

Please leave your key in the same place it was on arrival. We ask that you leave the flat as you found it by putting all furniture back to how it was, washing/drying/putting away crockery and cleaning down surfaces, oven, etc. We would also really appreciate it if at this time due to all the extra deep cleaning required in-between guests that beds are stripped and towels left in the bath/shower. Check-out is NO LATER THAN 10:00 on the morning of departure.

Our Favourite Places to Eat

Please note, these places may not be open yet for indoor dining, but most should be offering takeaway and/or outdoor dining.

Bolster Moor Farm Shop & Cafe

Within close walking distance, the farm shop offers a variety of fresh produce, groceries and ready meals. The cafe is open every day for breakfast and lunch, or a cheeky coffee and cake.

The Handmade Bakery & Cafe

Situated in Slaithwaite by the canal, the bakery offers amazing sourdough bread, locally roasted coffee, pastries, breakfast and lunch. Currently, only open for takeaway service. Vegan friendly. Open Tues - Sun.

The Golcar Lily

Our most local pub - it's within walking distance and is open for lunch and dinner. They offer a variety of dishes, including Sunday lunch. They also have a well stocked bar. Vegan pizzas available. Open Tues - Sun.

Anello Pizzeria

Down the hill from us in Slaithwaite, Anello is a pizzeria serving wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and seasonal small plates. Open for lunch / dinner, walk-ins available although booking is recommended.

The Scape House Inn

Another great nearby pub, Scape House Inn serve tasty classic pub meals and have a well stocked bar. 5 minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk from Westwood, but trust us, it's worth it.

Destination Indian Restaurant

Destination serve arguably the best Indian food in the valley. Situated in Slaithwaite (it's the place to be!) again, but it's worth the trip down the hill for tasty Indian food (with vegan options).

We look forward to seeing you - Ellie, Jake & Nikki (Westwood Wardens)
